As organizations improve the maturity of their PPM implementation and start to roll out Clarity to more business units, the need to closely integrate Clarity with other applications becomes a top priority. It is very common need for customers to integrate Clarity instance with third party applications such as HR Systems, Financial Systems, ALM Tools, Agile Systems, Service Management Systems and Procurement systems. When meaningful data is exchanged between Clarity and such systems, it avoids duplication of effort, allows easier reporting of data from within Clarity, holistic insights into project & portfolio management data and overall, improves product adoption by business users.

Clarity supports both SOAP and REST APIs to extract and import data.

Using Webservices

Ideal for real time integrations with low data volume, Clarity supports SOAP and REST APIs protocols to read and write information into Clarity PPM.

Using File-Based

More suited for large data import/export in batches, custom integrations using traditional file-based approach of exchange of data help customers handle daily import/export of data in the form of delimited flat files via Shared Drives.

Using Database

Available as an option for On-premises customers. However, is not the best practice approach to integration and will not be supported by Broadcom.

For Example: Resource Integration plugin for Clarity PPM is a file-based (can be extended to webservices based) integration that imports resource and user information in bulk by reading from a flat file.
